Censoring the Internet // Thesis

So, one of our latest assignments was to write a thesis paper on whether or not the government should have a right to censor our internet. I picked not, read my my short thesis about why below.

Are we giving the government the right to go through our "things"? Being online can be risky business, but it should also be of our own choice.

Tons of people have complained that having our internet overseen by the government only gives us more problems by placing safeguards up. It increases the difficulty that most already have, especially for people who have a hard enough time as it is. It’s time consuming and sometimes not useful in the right way.

Forget expecting your things to be for yourself or friends alone, if the government is checking what you post, what you put online might not be right by their standards and could cause a lot of ruckus. Just imagine having to deal with going over things you post to make sure it’s safe for everybody.

And attempting to check out selected sites might just very well get more complicated. Not everybody is that available and having to deal with such things could very well take up precious much-needed time.

If it was up to you, would you choose to have internet watched by others?

Green Gurus // A Community Cleaning Project

Our assignment a few weeks ago was about making a campaign that's all about being green! Since this was a group assignment, but my partner and I weren't able to meet up or talk about it too much, I made the Logo, Poster, Letter to Parents and the Handouts. Gabe (my partner) decided on the name Green Gurus, which I love. I'm not quite sure but it just gives me a nice feeling.

Green Gurus Poster
I placed a fact to make readers more interested!

Green Gurus Letter
This is our Letter to parents for the children that want to join.

Green Gurus Handouts
I placed our five green goals on the handout so people will know how to help.

This is a close up of the Green Gurus Logo.

This was a really fun project, I enjoyed making the things and researching about having a green community.

Reflections from the Project:

      1. We (my classmates and I in entrepreneurship class) were asked to do a project that gives us an idea of what it is like to own your company. We had to create the desktop collaterals for an original pizza company, which included making a logo, business cards, a letterhead for our official stationary, table placemats, and a restaurant menu.

2.While I was doing this project I learned just how complicated starting your own restaurant can be. Beginning with the basics, like coming up with a name (which is no easy task let me tell you). The work involved can be a bit much. And I wasn't even swimming in this project, all I had was a toe in the water! But I also found out how much fun it can be. To be truthful, I had WAY too much fun drawing all those pizzas and thinking up of a menu.

3.I see the connection of this project to real life and what it is actually going to be like. Whether I own my own company or work for others. Dabbling in this has taught me just what deadlines can be like (just so you know: nerve wracking)!

    4. I would like to be able to help start something like this one day. Or at least be the creative in a real restaurant. I would defiantly not mind drawing more people friendly menus. *giggles*

Pizza anyone?
